1.   Introduction

VINT Corporation (“VINT”, “we”, “us”) is committed protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains VINT’s collection and use of personally identifiable information collected from visitors and users of the VINT’s Virtual National Team Website (the “Website”). This Privacy Policy only applies to VINT’s Website, and does not apply to third-party websites that may be linked to or accessed through the Website.

VINT reserves the right to amend this Policy from time to time. The last update of this Policy (the "Effective Date") is listed at the bottom of this Privacy Policy. In the event that any amendment affects the purpose(s) for which we collect, use or disclose your Personal Information, we will obtain any additional consent required from you under applicable privacy laws.

 2.    Definitions

“Personal information" means identifiable information about an individual. This includes details such as your age, marital status, education, employment history, identification numbers, financial information and credit records. Personal information does not include most of the information that appears on a business card.

 3.    Coverage

VINT’s Privacy Policy covers VINT’s management of personally identifiable information that VINT collects when you are on VINT web sites, and when you use VINT’s services. This Privacy Policy also covers VINT’s management of any personally identifiable information that VINT ’s business partners share with VINT.

This Privacy Policy does not apply to the practices of companies that VINT does not own or control, or to people that VINT does not employ or manage, including without limitation, any VINT’s affiliates or business partners.

 4.     Collection and Use of Information

Users can access limited features of the Website without disclosing personal information. In order to access the entire Website, including access to the message boards, training calendar and other interactive areas of the Website, users must register for a User Account.

During the account registration process, you will be asked to submit personal information, including your name and an active e-mail address. VINT uses this information for the following general purposes: to send you our newsletter (you can also unsubscribe to the newsletter at any time by updating registration account information online), personalize the advertising and content you see on our pages, improve our services, conduct research, and to contact you about announcements relating to the Website.

In addition, information concerning your computer hardware and software may be automatically collected. This information may include your IP address, browser type, domain names, access times and referring website addresses. VINT uses this information to maintain the quality of its service and to provide general statistics about website visitors.

VINT also uses cookies and other similar information to: (a) store information so that you will not have to re-enter it during your visit or the next time you visit the Website; and (b) monitor aggregate metrics, such as total number of visitors and pages viewed.

 5.    Sharing and Disclosure of Information

VINT only shares personal information with other companies or individuals outside of VINT in the following limited circumstances:

  • We have your consent to share this information.
  • We provide such information to our trusted businesses or persons for the purpose of helping us in providing the services offered on the Website. We require that these parties agree to use personal information based on our instructions and in compliance with this Privacy Policy and any other appropriate confidentiality and security measures.  In such cases, these companies do not have any right to use the information we provide to them beyond what is necessary to assist us.
  • We may access or disclose information about you, including the content of your communications, in order to: (a) comply with the law or respond to lawful requests or legal process; (b) protect the rights or property of VINT or our users, including the enforcement of our agreements or policies governing your use of the Website; or (c) act on a good faith belief that such access or disclosure is necessary to protect the personal safety of VINT employees, customers or the public.
  • VINT may hire other companies to provide limited services on our behalf, such as sending newsletters, providing customer service, and performing statistical analysis of our services. We will only provide those companies with the information that they need to provide us with such services, and we prohibit them from using that information for any other purpose.

VINT, its affiliates, and other third parties to whom we disclose information under this Privacy Policy may store and process data outside of Canada. As a result, your information may be securely used, stored or accessed in other countries and may be subject to the laws of those countries. For example, information may be disclosed in response to valid demands or requests from government authorities, courts, or law enforcement in these countries.

If VINT becomes involved in a merger, acquisition, or any form of sale of some or all of its assets, we will provide notice before personal information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
